"The username violates our guidelines"

I'm having this problem with Firefox. Hmmm.

This isn't an edge issue, as my other browsers have the same problem.

I didn't have to do anything in another browser (I used Microsoft Edge) and I have no idea why mine appears to have started working. Perhaps there was just a delay in the system? I updated my Name one day and then about 2 days later it just let me go in.

Theory: If there is a delay, change the name (I changed mine to something shorter, then changed it back again), and then check back in a day or two?

Again, my account is very old, so perhaps there is some other piece of information required in their database that was missing until I did the edits?

(At some level this would surprise me because all the Microsoft systems I work with seem to update in real time.)

I'm trying to help Microsoft find a bug and if I happen to find a workaround in that process, share that with other users. I'm getting quite a few notifications of messages on this thread that have nothing to do with trying to find and address the bug.

Nobody brought up "QAnon" except you. This is happening to me on Chrome, so it's not "just an Edge issue".

If you aren't aware, or simply do not believe, the ongoing censorship of conservatives on Youtube/Facebook/Twitter then you are being ignorant. It is happening, it is blatant and they aren't even trying to hide it. This is not a conspiracy, just a fact. Because you aren't dealing with it doesn't mean it isn't happening.

LOL, the reason you are being censored on facebook / youtube / twitter is because you are pushing conspiracy theories that simply aren't true. The sooner you realize that the happier you'll be and perhaps, just perhaps the country can move forward and once again be the democracy that it was built on.

As to happening on Chrome, try Firefox ... worked for me.

You must not understand the principles of what our nation was founded upon and how our country has managed to excel above all until now. Varying messages from all viewpoints of society is the only way our nation can continue to be free and prosper. It should not matter which "side" someone is on. It should only matter there is freedom from ANY structure that attempts to dictate policy that affects the masses of society.

You feel secure simply because your rights and values are not affected. What if the pendulum swings the other way and you feel as though you are being silenced? ...and the pendulum always swings.

Same issue. The area in the "add comment dialog" where my user name should be is blank. There is no user name in the Microsoft Account, only email addresses and my actual name.
