I tried commenting on an article for the first time today. When i went to sign up and agree to the terms a window said in red letters "The username violates our guidelines"...

my username is my first and last name so I don't understand why I'm seeing this. There is no option to dispute on screen https://account.microsoft.com/profile?ocid=msedgntp

It's pretty funny looking through the comments on this forum. All the "conservative" people thinking it's some kind of conspiracy against them and that MS isn't allowing their voices to be heard. <political content removed> In any case, it appears to be a bug and someone actually figured out a work around (KernalPosix's post). just download the Microsoft start app on a phone and log into your MS acct and it will create the username you want. Go back to your desktop and all is working. Pretty sad that MS hasn't squashed this bug.

Finally figured this rabbit hole out. Surprised they just don't tell us to go back and accept their community policy on this page.

    Create Profile - Microsoft Community

After changing my name, adding a completely different msn acct, I finally stumbled onto this page and just clicked the accept box and issue was resolved.
