I tried commenting on an article for the first time today. When i went to sign up and agree to the terms a window said in red letters "The username violates our guidelines"...

my username is my first and last name so I don't understand why I'm seeing this. There is no option to dispute on screen https://account.microsoft.com/profile?ocid=msedgntp

It's pretty funny looking through the comments on this forum. All the "conservative" people thinking it's some kind of conspiracy against them and that MS isn't allowing their voices to be heard. <political content removed> In any case, it appears to be a bug and someone actually figured out a work around (KernalPosix's post). just download the Microsoft start app on a phone and log into your MS acct and it will create the username you want. Go back to your desktop and all is working. Pretty sad that MS hasn't squashed this bug.

You are ridiculous, you're trying to take a technical issue (Username is BLANK due to some bug retrieving the name from the older system it seems) and you're making it into some silly political situation, one that doesn't exist! Nobody is "discriminating" against anybody, it's your imagination!

I am also having this issue. Needless to say I am 100% DONE with Bing and Edge and MSN lol

Microsoft Quality Control is just atrocious. They can hardly even patch their own OS without breaking stuff every month. Goodbye Microsoft. Goodbye. You suck.

Nobody brought up "QAnon" except you. This is happening to me on Chrome, so it's not "just an Edge issue".

If you aren't aware, or simply do not believe, the ongoing censorship of conservatives on Youtube/Facebook/Twitter then you are being ignorant. It is happening, it is blatant and they aren't even trying to hide it. This is not a conspiracy, just a fact. Because you aren't dealing with it doesn't mean it isn't happening.

I was finally able to resolve this problem by creating the "Username" and saving it, then logging out of MSN and then reentering MSN from the discussion chat page with the new "Username" and it saw me. But it was a challenge to get to that means end. But basically, creating username, logging out, maybe a refresh page once or twice, going to the article discussion, signing in from the discussion page. That's what made it happen for me.
