CPU Overheating in Windows 11

I dont actually want to change linux, thats too much hassle for me. I want working windows. I upgraded because m2 ssd-drives. I bet the problem with this windows heating up too much has something to do with that. Newer gen of processors with m2 fast drives boot up too fast and that windows software doesnt control the booting speed and then the processor heats too much.

As I said I get rid of the problem by pushing reset on my computer and when it starts again it has no problem. Thats one reason I dont want to shutdown my computer much. As I am afraid windows gets effed up someday or another for pushing reset instead of restarting computer.

This is a problem Micro$oft should fix ASAP. Its isnt hardware problem, its their bad coding problem.

This is exactly what happened with my PC!

How can a company such as Microsoft that has been upgrading the operating system for nearly 40 years still churn out such bad, not fully tested software?

My laptops are now running Linux, Mint to be exact and even some windows applications work via the software Wine. I only have my Windows desktop left which I need to have on Windows until a particular Linux software equivalent has been produced.

Oldie Gamer, have you tried a Linux distro in a Virtual Machine environment or via a Live DVD? You can dual boot too if you want a long term evaluation. If your particular game is on Steam I believe that works within Linux.

After 40 years they still can't get it right and Mr Gates is developing gm foods, vaccinations and genetically engineered mosquitos to inject us! I think I'll pass LOL

It isnt hardware issue for sure. I had no problems when I installed windows, but few months later boom, it started heating and shutting down when playing red dead redemption..

..it heated so much I actually had to change mx6 heatpaste on my processor and water cooling..

..after that it worked nicely for a while and boom.. now I have another problem. If I shutdown my computer and start it again it overheats in the starting of windows. And doesnt cool down after that. So I need to reset my computer when starting and the problem goes away but this is really annoying.

Microsoft is telling its customers fault, it isnt.

People in the microsoft do bad software and if I wouldnt play I would change to MAC.

If something, this is BS.

And I did this throttling down processor thing, but it doesnt solve this starting up heating problem. If the problem was in my tech then I wouldnt be able to play for hours and hours of games without no problems and no overheating at all.

Fresh install of Windows 11 on a brand new Samsung 980 Pro SSD.

Temps under Windows 10 were idling at about 35c. Now under Windows 11 I am idling at 80c and going up to 95 when gaming!

Nothing else on my computer has changed at all.

I did check everything inside the case to make sure it is all seated correctly. I even removed the AIO and cleaned and reapplied Arctic Silver to the CPU/AIO to see if that fixed it. Nope! Temps still stupid high.

This is a Windows 11 issue and all the generic answers from MS support don't help.

I have set my max CPU performance to 99% in 'edit power plan' and my temps have dropped to 60c, which is obviously better, but still way higher than I had under Windows 10.

MICROSOFT, FIX THIS

Hi exactly same issue with my laptop, windows 11 is the problem and I am sick of MS telling me that its not. If you put two identical PCs next to each other, one with Windows 10 and one with Windows 11, the second one would run consistently higher with or without a system load. I can be watching YT and BBC on another tab, so two tabs and the temp is going up to 80s, gaming goes higher on certain games. System either freezes when the temp spikes or shutdowns or i have to shut everything down to get the temp to drop off. Its ridiculous and a total OS failure for so many users.
