It seems if it is still DOWNLOADING you should be able to cancel it somehow. Doesn't anyone have a workaround? Microsoft should be sued for doing this. They are NOT customer friendly. I have been using their products for years but know I might get a MAC or go with Linux.

I was part way through the download process of Windows 11 when I stopped it and eventually prevented future attempts with the wonderful help on this thread. I get it that you don't feel comfortable going through the steps it takes, but if Windows 11 hasn't finished downloading and installing, then pause updates now. Then take it to whatever tech person you have in mind. From what I've read, it's easier to stop the installation than to uninstall and go back to 10. Good luck.

Woke up 600 am to Win trying to upgrade me to win 11. I don't want to, but reading all these posts gives me angst because I am NOT tech savvy enough to do the tasks needed. What now?

If Win 11 is in process of downloading, once it is, can I just stop it going further? Boy this annoys me. I may have to pay a computer geek to come into my home and help me with this. Windows shouldn't be able to force me. I wasn't savvy enough to know what the Win agreement was I saw at 6 a.m. I thought it was just another agreement or I couldn't use my Win OS if I didn't "accept'. Now I'm probably screwed. Also, doesn't Win 11 COST money?

Ok, just thought I'd tell ya'll that at least you understand what to do, I sure don't. sigh. Good luck in your efforts.
