how do i stop downloading and installing windows 11

Interrupting the upgrade process can cause your system to become unstable and not work properly. I recommend waiting for it to finish and check Kapil Arya’s guide below on How to Downgrade from Windows 11 to 10.

Well, I've got a major issue then. My PC attempted to start downloading Windows 11, but it never completed the process. In fact, it was stuck at 0%. Still, I continue to get a pop-up message telling me that Windows 11 is in the process of downloading and not to interrupt it.........but it's not doing anything. And now, the whole system is glitchy. I have paused the update, but what am I supposed to do?

There is NOTHING wrong wit my Power button. It would not even shutdown using the start menu power icon. When I reverted to Windows 10, EVERYTHING works fine.

Glad you are still hanging in there. I'm the outliar also doing pauses for 35 days at a time.

HI @RobertHeard1 - did you turn off Updates in Advanced Settings? That gives you a 30 day "window" - pun intended. I just got to the 30 days since I did that the first time and Windows 11 asked again to install now or later or in x number of days but there were only a few days in the option. I went to the Windows Notifications in Settings and clicked on Advanced to get the longer amount of time. This is not ideal but can work until someone thinks of something else. I am debating just having someone do a clean boot on my PC to take it back to Windows 10. I don't want to be missing security updates for W10.

It does sound like you had terrible issues because your computer is not supported for Windows 11. You ran the Microsoft test to see if your computer could run Windows 11? I'm not an expert, but it also sounds like there is something wrong with the mechanics of your computer if your start button does even work. Either way, sounds like you should stick with Windows 10.
