Windows 11 Screensaver / Display Sleep functions not working

A few weeks ago, I can't remember exactly when it occurred (May have been after installing W11) my screensaver and display sleep functions just completely stopped working. I have tried every trick in the book. I have updated my BIOS and chipset drivers. Powercfg -requests shows an audio stream running from realtek, I tried overriding it but didn't solve anything. I confirmed every power option setting is correctly enabled. Basically I've spent extensive time googling and troubleshooting this to no avail.

The one thing that did fix it was running the DISM restore commands in CMD Prompt, however, it only works temporarily for the initial reboot after running that command, and then it stops working again if I reboot a 2nd time.

What can I do to fix this problem?

After a lot of messing around with settings, some of which worked for a sort time, I tried removing my mouse/keyboard USB dongle to see if my PC sleeps. It did !
So I replaced my relatively new Microsoft keyboard and mouse with a Logitech keyboard and mouse, and everything now works as it should.

I also did everything else in this thread including checking that no attached device is set to 'wake' the computer except for my mouse and keyboard.

Ok I tried it again and this worked for me too: "...install all optional driver updates through windows update"!

I'm glad/sad to hear someone else had a nearly identical tech support experience to mine! Same thing: tech simply vanished into the ether! No explanation, no follow-up! It's time for some house-cleaning in the MS tech support arena.
