Windows 11 Screensaver / Display Sleep functions not working

A few weeks ago, I can't remember exactly when it occurred (May have been after installing W11) my screensaver and display sleep functions just completely stopped working. I have tried every trick in the book. I have updated my BIOS and chipset drivers. Powercfg -requests shows an audio stream running from realtek, I tried overriding it but didn't solve anything. I confirmed every power option setting is correctly enabled. Basically I've spent extensive time googling and troubleshooting this to no avail.

The one thing that did fix it was running the DISM restore commands in CMD Prompt, however, it only works temporarily for the initial reboot after running that command, and then it stops working again if I reboot a 2nd time.

What can I do to fix this problem?

    I bought a brand-new Dell Alienware laptop with Windows 11 Pro 21H2 (OS Build 22000.1219), and Screensaver, Sleep, and Hibernate have never worked, out of the box. I have tried every suggestion in this 6-page thread, except "reinstall Windows" and nothing has ever worked, not even once. Windows 11 is definitely still not a business class operating system.

    Update 1:

    I ran the upgrade to Version 22H2 (OS Build 22621.819) which is the equivalent of "reinstall Windows" and it had no effect. Screensaver, Sleep, and Hibernate still do not work. 12 months now.

    Update 2:

    I set my screensaver to 1 minute, and put the device to sleep after 2 minutes, then tried unplugging everything 1 at a time waiting 5 minutes until there was nothing left plugged in, not even the ethernet cord, external speakers, power adapter, external monitor, nothing, just the bare laptop sitting by itself, and it will just sit there displaying the desktop until the battery is fully drained.

    Is there a common factor that's been acknowledged regarding this issue? This is a brand new install for me with minimal programs running but I'd be happy to submit hardware information and installed software if it helps.

    I suspect these are all tied together. When screensaver and display turn off doesn't trigger, sleep and hibernate also fail. Thus hours later my pc is still unlocked and displaying the same image.

    What is going on here?

    Sleep function was working fine on AMD motherboard with windows 11 but I had to change motherboard to intel along with chip and memory and now monitor and sleep don't work. Even had to hit sync for time to be corrected. Always something.

    mine works without none of my external drives connected when I connect them it quits working agin what should I do?

    I have the same problem with the screen savers… they only start if I do it manually every time . I’m using on Oled TV as monitor, so the screen saver would be useful
