how do I fix desktop and file folders that do not refresh automatically?

If you are using Windows 11, you can try this:

  1. Open File Explorer
  2. On the top bar, click the right most "..." to open more option
  3. Click "option"

there are three tabs on the top, what you have to do is to click the "restore to default" button on each tab.

remember to click "apply".

    I previously uninstalled OneDrive and have the issue. So I don't have the option of unlinking. :(

    Then, reinstall OneDrive and you will have back the opportunity to unlink your computer.

    I would think that uninstalling would unlink by extension. Regardless, I reinstalled and unlinked, but the problem persists :(

    In this case, your problem originates from other errors in your system. Maybe someone else it will replay with more solutions for this.
