desktop and file folders do not refresh automatically

I know this sounds weird, but I also had this same problem, and I also went through many of the troubleshooting advice this blog offered. I also could not resolve my issue of my renamed files not updating. In the Explorer window, I noticed at the top of each column where it says Name, Date, Type, Size, Tags. I must have clicked on the tag's column and changed this setting. At the top where is says tags in the top part of the column, there is a drop box that says unspecified next to Tags. If unspecified is unchecked, the list will not update. Just put a check mark in the box and whaala it worked for me.

Hi Guys,
I found the SOLUTION/FIX For this finally. I did try all the mentioned methods, and none seemed to work, but Uninstalling One Drive was one method which made sense to me as I thought maybe because of the syncing process this happens. So, I did uninstall One Drive but still it didnt change. Then when I looked deeper, even after uninstalling the Directory or File path was still under One Drive Folder.

So the Fix that worked for me was,

I went to the following path :
C:\Users\desig\Onedrive\Desktop
And Cut the entire folders and moved it to the direct Desktop folder in the following path :
C:\Users\desig\Desktop

Once I moved it to this location and deleted the One drive folder in the previous location, now it works perfectly fine and gets refreshed automatically.

I am using a brand new PC with Windows 11 installed. The PC was brought up-to-date before being brought into service.

My issue began immediately with this machine.

My issue did NOT begin at a later point in time.

I have a question about your first two points:

1. Use the cleaning software to clear the system cache.
2. There may be a problem with the registry settings or the lack of relevant setting options.

QUESTION: Did Microsoft sell me Windows 11 (via the purchase of a new PC) such that either from the initial sale or updates, Microsoft inflicted buggy software onto me and its "valued" customer?

Remember, my issue started immediately after purchase and updates and before I began using the machine.

PURPOSE OF QUESTION: I want to know what I have gotten into here which I did NOT bargain for with the purchase of a new $2,000.00 PC. I want to use my PC, not fix it.

Is this a Windows 11 issue?

I ask because I have used Windows since version 1.0.

I have never experienced this issue, ever over the entire life of Windows until I moved to Windows 11.

The very first Reply in this thread goes something like this:

Click 'Update', find the name 'UpdateMode' on the right, double-click to open it, a window will appear and change its value to 0 (hexadecimal), OK.

3. If you can't find a new one for Uptate, click Control, right mouse button, 'New', 'Item'

Name the new item, "Update"

Click the right mouse button of Update, "New">"DWORD (32-bit) Value", rename, the data of UpdateMode is 0

Exit the Registry Editor and restart the system.

Why must "valued" Microsoft customers be put through this poor quality software simply because we were stupid enough to upgrade to Windows 11 over a year after its introduction?

This issue is wreaking havoc on my productivity. I want my Windows 10 back.
