The updates are designed to eventually kill your computer's circuitry, there's no doubt about it. Windows updates destroyed both of my Sony Vaio laptops several years ago, and so I purchased a HP Envy x360 and now with the latest update the laptop constantly overheats even with the cooling pad underneath it, so i literally have to shut the laptop down every few minutes to let it cool down, furthermore the laptop was running smoothly before and I can't even uninstall the updates or perform a system restore because the updates keep re-installing itself, you don't need to be a rocket scientist to figure out that this is all a ploy to get people to purchase new laptops
Windows 11 Destroyed my computer
Hello,
I'm absolutely baffled by what Microsoft has done. I woke up this morning to an update in progress restarting my computer. I left came back and it hadn't finished so I left it. When I got back later in the day the computer was at my log in screen and looked normal but the lockscreen background had changed. I entered my password and after an hour of "preparing your computer" the machine logged into my account, blank, no start menu, no programs, no access to anything just a newer Windows 11 background. Previous to this my machine updated to Windows 11 without any issues and I've used it now going on a month or so. Now I am left without any of my data and unable to produce any work. Who is going to fix this? Who is paying for what appears to be all my lost data? Who is paying the loss of productivity at work? I have no words just pure frustration combined with anger as I'm stuck trying to contact someone using a dinosaur laptop running Windows 7. After bricking a $2200 machine there's no point sticking with Microsoft at this point, Apple has never done this to me.

2023-10-18T12:48:11+00:00 Exactly same with me. My Dell laptop had all my genealogy files and was trying to restore to a HP laptop and not knowing it was updating also, bam, can get nothing but screen showing finding and repairing...never finds or repairs, just same message even when left overnight to continue. Now using a new Dell and they tried to update but I am fighting to stop this time.

2023-09-23T11:46:01+00:00 Same, I made the mistake of purchasing a Microsoft Surface pro turdbox thinking it would be worth the thousands I spent because its Microsoft and they literally wrote the operating system and design the hardware to run it on their 'flagship top of the line system, they said. That little Grey PoS was by far the most buggy and messed up machine I've ever used, I would have to reformat it weekly because windows hello would stop working and other weird random ****, there were SO MANY known bugs and posts about them posted with thousands if people/comments with the same bugs, Microsoft never did anything tofix their 'flagfship' their answer was always to reset, so I basically had everything on externals so j could do my weekly reset. After I was forced to upgrade to windows 11 is when it became unbareable, literally the blue screen of death every 40min doing a forced restart because my computer 'ran into an error and needs to be restarted". I gave Windows 11 about a 7 month go of nonstop problems until I finally went back to Windows 10 and had little issues with Win10 for the final 1.5 months while I did research on Apple and finally got a MacBook Pro and will never have to deal with windows or Microsoft ever for my personal computing ever again, sadly i am still use windows for work tho buf hardly. OMG apple is lightyears ahead of Microsoft, I feel so stupid that I actively hated anything Apple, I still can't believe im a apple guy now, and months later there is still no issues at all and hardly a learning curve to transition to Apple. Microsoft is just a dumpster fire now for me that I only have to walk by, but I'm done getting burned by them as they self-destruct

2023-09-04T22:54:30+00:00 I would suggest using Acronis True image. Don't depend on Microsoft restore points to work for you 100% of the time , if the OS gets compromised? by Virtus or Trojan or Malware, chances are the restore points got destroyed via the active trojan just to prevent you from restoring!
Have a 4TB or 8TB Extended drive separate from the main OS, create a restore image on those drives and you will be safer.
Its called a snapshot! This will server you better and give you a better place to safe guard your work.
