Windows 11 broke my PC!

I know right! An OS upon release doesn't necessarily mean it's stable. You'll need to wait a few more months so that Microsoft identifies the bugs and fixes them. I had almost the same experience as others had (downloaded it a month after release but still). Faced a lot of lags, very slow computer. But I was patient and thought that I must let it first download some cumulative updates and wait for a few weeks so that I have a somewhat stable OS. And, the patience proved to be worth it and today I still use Windows 11 without any problems (except the Microsoft Edge irritation).

I put this upgrade off for 6 months... bit by bit... oh just let us download it, just so it's ready... install now? install now? install now?

Installed last night while I was asleep and now I can't work because TEAMS won't run, even after removing and reinstalling... Absolute ****.

I upgraded to Windows 11 in January after checking and fulfilling the hardware requirements. My computer was basically stable for 8 months. However, in August my computer became first unstable and then completely unusable while on a trip. The computer got very slow, which I think was due to some odd hard disk management, as hard disk utilization was pegged at 100%, even in the absence of doing anything on the computer. In addition, the battery failed to charge, which was odd because I put a new one in last year. It was hard to diagnose because keyboard latency became very long. I thought it might be a virus but I have up to date virus protection (McAfee). Upon returning to home base, I was able to find published long lists of potential Windows 11 issues. I went through a number of settings recommendations from the articles and finally got my computer working fairly normally, even the battery began charging again. But today, September 5, 2022, when I turned on my computer it sounded two tones during bootup. I have never had any tones at boot up prior to this event. The fact that I got tones was most concerning because it could mean that someone other than myself is potentially screwing around inside my computer. Since I use this computer for some private business, it is making me lose confidence in my ability to secure my computer and data. So I wonder, are you pushing changes with more aggression, or is my computer insecure?

I wonder if it is a hardware related issue. Because, I don't think that the software present in your laptop is causing the issue. I have a really old laptop and it makes a lot of tones while turning on, and I already know it's because of the hardware (it has been 14 years owning the laptop, since it's of no use now and is unsellable, I don't really care about the hardware problems).

When the PC first alerted me to it’s readiness to upgrade to Windows 11 I searched for more info and found advice similar to what you have written. Additionally the consensus seemed to be that it is not such a big improvement on Windows 10 anyway. So I decided to ignore the occasional upgrade messages but it has somehow upgraded anyway. After initial slowness it doesn’t seem too bad mostly now (though I miss the file names in the taskbar). However on a couple of occasions it has started without giving me access to any saved documents, photos etc. The printer driver and other programs such as Adobe were present on the desktop in the expected positions. The second time this happened, I saw a message saying that it couldn’t access the profile that I had signed in with (there is only one profile). Next time the PC booted up after these incidents, all seemed fine.
