Windows 11 broke my PC!

I'm so disappointed in Windows 11. It's the most unstable garbage I've ever used. It makes Vista look like a cake walk. I'm running a PC with a Ryzen 7 processor, but Windows and it's instability has made it totally unreliable since I get BSOD errors constantly. A warning to all investors of Microsoft: Windows is becoming a relic due to total integrity failure. What I truly love is the error messages are rarely the exact same, so there's a general unease using this eroding operating system. If I were investing in software companies, I'd be certain to avoid the intrusive way that users get "upgraded" overnight, allowing Microsoft to murder your machine without even having to send someone.

Yeah...Windows 11 killed my laptop as well. I lost all my files and still can't boot. Even the Bitlocker won't work. This is driving me to Linux, don't really want to go Apple again.

Why they didn't quality control this before releasing it? I don't know. Now my Dell PC is broken because Microsoft aggressively pushed out a software update....

I'm sorry that you had to learn this lesson the hard way, but it's something that professional users have known for many years:

Don't install a new operating system in its first year.

New versions of Windows are extensively tested by millions of users. Even so, there's no way that Microsoft can possibly predict how a new version of Windows will perform on more than one and a half billion Windows devices. That's one and a half billion different configurations.

It's so much wiser to wait while unanticipated bugs are discovered and Microsoft works on fixing them. While you're waiting, you can take the opportunity to read about the new operating system and learn all you can about it. That way, when the time comes for you to install the new operating system, you'll be ready.

During its first year, let corporate network administrators, tech bloggers, and other professional testers work out the kinks in a new operating system. Although nothing made of software will ever be totally free of bugs, eventually Windows will arrive at a point where it's safe for most users. That's when you and I install Windows 11.

It shouldn't come as a surprise that Microsoft wants as many people as possible to try Windows 11 during its first year. What is surprising, and disappointing, is that Microsoft's contractors recommend a brand new operating system to people who are not in the position to deal with new software.

Full disclosure: I actually do have Windows 11, but I installed it in a virtual machine. That way I can observe the new operating system and learn about it without having to worry about how it might be affecting the rest of my computer. If you're interested in trying a new operating system, that's the best way to install it, in my view.
