Windows 11 Indexing is paused

What the hell is up with Windows 11 and the indexing being paused?

I was told by customer help to rebuild, which I did. And it took forever to index a few thousand files (because "indexing is paused") and was still not finished when...

Yesterday, windows took it upon itself to start rebuilding without discussing it with me first, and now I am back at square one - its taking like a bazillion years because "indexing is paused".

All search results return as not found !!!!!!!!!!

Does anybody know how to fix this ****?

Today I see the index paused, but the number of element indexed still increase, slowly now. When I delete for example 50 spam emails, I see how the total number of the index elements decrease in the same amount.

I've been replaying some emails and after a while, if I search in outlook, the emails are found, so definetelly those are being indexing despite the"paused index" message.

But I can tell that the indexing of those files are too slow. It doens't find the emails until few minutes, and my index database ended yesterday, so I don't think it has too many things to add.

In resume, this doens't work properly and I don't see Microsoft giving a solution soon.

I also have problems with the search of content inside PDF files even I installed a ifilter and enabled seach for content too. I tried several ifilters and I did always a index rebuild. It is frustrating.

Well, I did that but I'm not sure if it was the solution. I observed that the indexed files were going up, while the index said it was paused. Really strange.

I also did a modification on the "Local Policy Group": https://appuals.com/windows-11-indexing-is-paused/#:~:text=Indexing%20is%20paused%20by%20local,re%20on%20battery%2Dsaving%20mode.

According to this, I should set it in "Disable".

In the Spanish version, the description says the opposite:

It says: if disables, the index is paused each time that the PC runs from battery. So description is opposite of what it is written in the english version.

So I decide to set it to Enable.

Anyhow, with this 2 changes, index finished this morning. My laptop has been plugged all the time. Today I worked all the day, checking index from time to time and it didn't pause. Increasing the index a bit because new files, emails, etc. So it feels normal.

I will double check during the next days and let you know.

    Regards,

    Hello.

Any solution to this problem? I have 2 computers with Windows 11 and both have the same issue.

I have modified the properties on Services > Windows Search, to restart service each 10 minutes to see if this let me finish the index (sorry, image is in spanish).

I'm not sure if it will work.

    Regards,
