Very frustrating. My laptop has now moved to re-indexing about 15,000 files every day, very slowly, with such a high CPU usage that the fan runs constantly. It quiets down when I go in and manually turn off indexing, but indexing won't stay turned off. It automatically restarts after.about 20 seconds. Where's the fix?
Windows 11 Indexing is paused
What the hell is up with Windows 11 and the indexing being paused?
I was told by customer help to rebuild, which I did. And it took forever to index a few thousand files (because "indexing is paused") and was still not finished when...
Yesterday, windows took it upon itself to start rebuilding without discussing it with me first, and now I am back at square one - its taking like a bazillion years because "indexing is paused".
All search results return as not found !!!!!!!!!!
Does anybody know how to fix this ****?

2022-05-11T18:34:55+00:00 My theory is that there are several reasons why the Windows search indexing stops. Likely they all result from search-service internal bugs, but at different locations. And it seems not all bugs are hit on all installations and some of the bugs are fixed over time with specific fix packages. Probably the structure of the search context (files + Outlook emails) impacts this "bugs hit" list as well. In general I just hope that the responsible Microsoft developers are reading all these complains and try to find all these bugs and prevent to add new ones in future.
