Windows 11 Bluetooth no sound/microphone and crashing

My Bluetooth earphones have been working well all the time until I upgraded my laptop to Windows 11. The laptop shows my earphones are connected, but neither sound nor microphone works. The browser and Zoom crash every time I try to use Bluetooth earphones to listen to music or join meetings.

I have tried disconnecting/reconnecting Bluetooth earphones, turning on/off Bluetooth, resetting my earphones, restarting my laptop, and none of these resolves the issues of no sound/mic and crashing. I even bought a new pair of Bluetooth earphones, and it did not work either.

I think this is a bug in Windows 11. Am I the only one facing this issue? What exactly is going on with Windows 11 Bluetooth? And what else can I do now?

I had to endure this Windows 11 & Bluetooth earbuds mess for the past 14 months (started as soon as I upgraded to Windows 11 on my Dell XPS 17 laptop). The strange thing is, I have several Windows 11 PC at work that have no issue with Bluetooth earbuds. Really hope someone resolves this.

For my conferences at home, I have to use Google/Zoom for video, and use phone for audio. What a setup.

There is a new Intel update for bluetooth sound drivers. I updated my computer, Windows 11, Acer. After the update bluetooth works on Google Meet and ZOOM, if they are started before any other software. As long as either of them are running in the background, I can get sound normally when using Youtube TV or Youtube. However, if I am watching something and turn off Meet or ZOOM, the sound no longer works on any other software including those two. Prior to the Intel update, that same condition was seen for ZOOM, but not Meet. Still a mystery why sound on other software works when those programs are running in the background (whether actually in a meeting or not) as long as Meet or ZOOM is started first.

I finally gave up and did an install of windows 10 from a thumb drive in order to revert back away from Windows 11. Ridiculous that is the course of action I had to take but Microsoft seemed to give me no other option. I am much happier now as things generally work.

Constantly ignoring all of the prompts now on Windows 10 that encourage me to upgrade to Windows 11....haha not a chance!
