Windows 11 Bluetooth no sound/microphone and crashing

My Bluetooth earphones have been working well all the time until I upgraded my laptop to Windows 11. The laptop shows my earphones are connected, but neither sound nor microphone works. The browser and Zoom crash every time I try to use Bluetooth earphones to listen to music or join meetings.

I have tried disconnecting/reconnecting Bluetooth earphones, turning on/off Bluetooth, resetting my earphones, restarting my laptop, and none of these resolves the issues of no sound/mic and crashing. I even bought a new pair of Bluetooth earphones, and it did not work either.

I think this is a bug in Windows 11. Am I the only one facing this issue? What exactly is going on with Windows 11 Bluetooth? And what else can I do now?

Wonder of wonders!! My wife's Aukey EP-T21 earbud/headset work fine on both Windows 11 machines. They are 6 months "newer" than my set. How would anyone know in advance, before buying, whether the headset they want to buy will work with Windows 11? Trial and error? Maybe the only solution is to buy a new headset and hope for the best. Let the buyer beware: make sure you have a good no-cost return policy!

MS hasn't even acknowledge the problem, I try my earbuds after the releases but nothing has changed.

WalterHildebrand: How do you think will we be informed if/when MS does anything about this problem? There are probably dozens of additional posts on this problem, distributed throughout the Community questions/posts. Is it possible that MS has actually come up with a solution but we're not receiving it via this thread?
