Windows 11 Bluetooth no sound/microphone and crashing

My Bluetooth earphones have been working well all the time until I upgraded my laptop to Windows 11. The laptop shows my earphones are connected, but neither sound nor microphone works. The browser and Zoom crash every time I try to use Bluetooth earphones to listen to music or join meetings.

I have tried disconnecting/reconnecting Bluetooth earphones, turning on/off Bluetooth, resetting my earphones, restarting my laptop, and none of these resolves the issues of no sound/mic and crashing. I even bought a new pair of Bluetooth earphones, and it did not work either.

I think this is a bug in Windows 11. Am I the only one facing this issue? What exactly is going on with Windows 11 Bluetooth? And what else can I do now?

    Same problem here.

Bose QC35 II well connected by BT, recognised as a headset everywhere but not listed as audio input/output device.

It was working perfectly on Windows10, worked when upgraded to 11 but suddenly stopped with no reason.

I cannot choose it as output device because is not listed as a capable device.

I've tried all those newbie solutions that MS copy&paste in every post related to this issue... it's sad to read that years later the issue stills there.

    Windows 11 still not fixed!!

Aukey EP-T21 headset earbuds work fine with iPad, android phone, and Windows 10 laptop. They pair and connect (albeit intermittently) but no sound or microphone with Windows 11 desktop (brand new) or laptop ("upgraded" from W10 last year). Sony WH-CH700N headphones pair and connect fine with all devices, including both W11 machines. All troubleshooters report no problems. All drivers updated. "Zoom first" fix works for a few minutes on W11 laptop then fails, plus sound is terrible.

I agree with WalterHildebrand, this is simply unacceptable behavior from MS. Fix the problem and stop telling us to try fixes that will never work!!

The issue I have right now is different slightly. I'm trying to use galaxy buds on windows, they show up, they pair properly, but any time I try to play audio through them, windows no longer recognizes them as an audio device, weirdest issue I've seen so far.
