Window 11 taskbar auto-hide turning off

I switched to Windows 11 a few weeks ago, and ever since then, the taskbar auto-hide quits working when the computer comes out of Sleep mode. I have to be away from the computer for a while before it will happen, and I believe it has something to do with me running dual monitors. When I wake my computer, my secondary monitor appears to come up faster than my primary by just a fraction. Once my primary is on, there is a message saying something about the taskbar already being hidden (I think) and the taskbar on my primary monitor has the taskbar up. When I go to Taskbar Behaviors, 'Automatically hide the taskbar' is no longer checked. I'll select it again, and it will work fine until the system goes back into Sleep mode for a while, again.

    April 28, 2025 and this is still an issue!!! Mine does it complete random. saves some times, then one day will randomly uncheck and stay on top instead of auto hiding. 🤦‍♂️

    I have this issue, May 8th 2025.

    Occurs after pc wakes from sleep.

    Same issue here. I leave my PC on 24/7 with no sleep settings set or dual monitors and it still occurs after unlocking from an extended period of time.

    I thought this was a nice idea/work around and wanted to make an addition. First I believe this is an issue with displayport only not hdmi. I have 2 monitors using dp connections. This is the way I set this up to be more automated. I did not read ALL the comments so if someone else already recommended this, apologies.

    1. set windows to autolock after 10 minutes using secpol
    2. create a scheduled task that triggers on computer unlock to run your script

    This is the workflow

    1. Idle 10 min, screen locks
    2. screen locks 1 min and display goes to sleep by default
    3. Come back, login, script runs

    I have noticed that the error that disables the autohide does not always occur, but automating this will ensure that if it does, the system will correct itself. Still may have to close the error dialog.

    Also I only just set this up and I haven't received the error yet, but assume this should work until the bug is resolved.
