I use ReIcon to keep my icons organized just in case they should move about. While it won't stop it from happening it will put them back just like I had them afterwards.

I switched to Windows 11 a few weeks ago, and ever since then, the taskbar auto-hide quits working when the computer comes out of Sleep mode. I have to be away from the computer for a while before it will happen, and I believe it has something to do with me running dual monitors. When I wake my computer, my secondary monitor appears to come up faster than my primary by just a fraction. Once my primary is on, there is a message saying something about the taskbar already being hidden (I think) and the taskbar on my primary monitor has the taskbar up. When I go to Taskbar Behaviors, 'Automatically hide the taskbar' is no longer checked. I'll select it again, and it will work fine until the system goes back into Sleep mode for a while, again.

2024-07-12T14:31:16+00:00 I use this shortcut that I found on the Internet. Not only does it restore auto-hide, it also places the icons on the desktop in their original place.

I don't know how it works exactly; I just picked it up. And while it doesn't solve the issue it only takes 2 mouseclicks and everything is as it was.

2024-07-12T15:46:01+00:00 That's fantastic - do you know of a way to execute that automatically, perhaps from the legacy AutoExec.bat or as a regularly scheduled service, executing in "x" time interval whenever the computer is running?
Ideally I'd have that sucker run every 5 minutes... :D
