Window 11 taskbar auto-hide turning off

I switched to Windows 11 a few weeks ago, and ever since then, the taskbar auto-hide quits working when the computer comes out of Sleep mode. I have to be away from the computer for a while before it will happen, and I believe it has something to do with me running dual monitors. When I wake my computer, my secondary monitor appears to come up faster than my primary by just a fraction. Once my primary is on, there is a message saying something about the taskbar already being hidden (I think) and the taskbar on my primary monitor has the taskbar up. When I go to Taskbar Behaviors, 'Automatically hide the taskbar' is no longer checked. I'll select it again, and it will work fine until the system goes back into Sleep mode for a while, again.

Googled this issue and found this 2 year old thread with over 200 replies and no resolution. Add me to the list. Same circumstances. Win 11 wakes from hibernation, message on screen about the toolbar, and autohide disables.

I also have a disappearing taskbar, but I find that it comes back if I hit the windows key - but it also brings the news page up, which is a bit of a nuisance.

I also find hitting the windows key twice when the taskbar refuses to go gets rid of it - sometimes only briefly though.

Who'd have thought they didn't think it important enough to cure after all this time? We can only hope that they care enough to rethink it for windows 12 - whenever that comes out!

I also have this problem. Dual monitor setup. Every week or 2 the setting to hide taskbar gets unchecked by windows for some stupid reason. Win 11 has been a real disappointment. There are so many issues with the desktop that just dont seem to be getting acknowledged or fixed.

I went into taskbar settings and unchecked the box "Show flashing on taskbar apps" and rechecked the box for "Show my taskbar on all displays" and that seems to have fixed my problem. Running Windows 11 Enterprise version 23H2. Taskbar has so far remained hidden.

This did not work for me.
