You're right about one thing: it's the notifications from pinned apps. I've been paying attention to when it goes off the rails, and that's the precipitating factor. Short of turning off notifications for all the apps, how did you fix the problem?

I switched to Windows 11 a few weeks ago, and ever since then, the taskbar auto-hide quits working when the computer comes out of Sleep mode. I have to be away from the computer for a while before it will happen, and I believe it has something to do with me running dual monitors. When I wake my computer, my secondary monitor appears to come up faster than my primary by just a fraction. Once my primary is on, there is a message saying something about the taskbar already being hidden (I think) and the taskbar on my primary monitor has the taskbar up. When I go to Taskbar Behaviors, 'Automatically hide the taskbar' is no longer checked. I'll select it again, and it will work fine until the system goes back into Sleep mode for a while, again.

2022-07-07T17:19:38+00:00 As a matter of fact, since I noticed this reason, I always searched for a "hanging" notification. This resolved all my problems the last few weeks. Maybe not all the notifications are really visible?

2022-07-10T00:10:03+00:00 I’ve been battling the same issue ever since switching from Win10 Pro to Win11 Pro and finally came across Squatch253’s post and I uninstalled Microsoft Teams in the apps window. Finally my taskbar stays hidden now after multiple resumes from sleep. Hopefully it will keep working this way. I have two monitors in addition to my main laptop monitor with one of them being a Dell super wide which is basically two 27’s side by side but one continuous monitor and another single Dell 27” next to it, then my main 17” Dell Precision 7760. In Windows 10 after a recent update upon waking from sleep all my open windows were randomly placed on different monitors and resized but never the same way. I tried everything to fix it reading all forums to no avail. I finally resorted to using an image I made back in December of 2021 after I installed all my programs and Win 10 Pro was back to working perfectly, but as soon as the updates hit everything went downhill again, so I switched to Win11 Pro and was introduced to the taskbar not staying hidden upon waking from sleep. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that this has fixed the problem. Many thanks to Squatch253 with no help whatsoever from Microsoft.

2022-07-10T04:51:53+00:00 Forgot to say that the switch from Win10 Pro to Win11 Pro fixed the jumbled up windows placement and resizing and the taskbar always hid properly with Win`10 Pro, but with the latest Win11 Pro update, the taskbar hiding issue came up which I've never seen before. I'm fairly certain it's gone now by uninstalling Microsoft Teams.
