Window 11 taskbar auto-hide turning off

I switched to Windows 11 a few weeks ago, and ever since then, the taskbar auto-hide quits working when the computer comes out of Sleep mode. I have to be away from the computer for a while before it will happen, and I believe it has something to do with me running dual monitors. When I wake my computer, my secondary monitor appears to come up faster than my primary by just a fraction. Once my primary is on, there is a message saying something about the taskbar already being hidden (I think) and the taskbar on my primary monitor has the taskbar up. When I go to Taskbar Behaviors, 'Automatically hide the taskbar' is no longer checked. I'll select it again, and it will work fine until the system goes back into Sleep mode for a while, again.

Welcome to the club! I upgraded at first opportunity, so I think I've been here for about 3 and a half years, but I've lost count. I still come back to see if Microsoft have bothered to reply, but I've given up hope. Roll on win12! At least the might have realised their new tech version of the toolbar has been a massive disaster, even if they won't acknowledge it publicly in the forum.

    I'm tired of this ****! 😡🤬

My PC took a dump & I had to reinstall Windows. I obviously had the option of updating to Windows 11, but had to stay on 10 because of this ****!

I have a paid 365 subscription, so I'll call support and tell them about this taskbar-auto-hide-disabling-itself issue and see if they can do anything.

I'll update this thread once they do, or do not...

I still have the problem May 26 2025. I have a single (65"Oled TV) monitor over hdmi. I don't want to burn the OLED TV with the taskbar and have wrestled with this since upgrading to Win 11 a few months ago.

You would think that 511 replies to a three year thread would get some attention, so here is one more grizzle.

thats literally turning the option off, we want the autohide!

i have the same issue and i have to keep turning it back on because it turns itself off.

also, i would like to suggest a higher frame rate on the autohide animation! it would make the experience much better!
