Window 11 taskbar auto-hide turning off

I switched to Windows 11 a few weeks ago, and ever since then, the taskbar auto-hide quits working when the computer comes out of Sleep mode. I have to be away from the computer for a while before it will happen, and I believe it has something to do with me running dual monitors. When I wake my computer, my secondary monitor appears to come up faster than my primary by just a fraction. Once my primary is on, there is a message saying something about the taskbar already being hidden (I think) and the taskbar on my primary monitor has the taskbar up. When I go to Taskbar Behaviors, 'Automatically hide the taskbar' is no longer checked. I'll select it again, and it will work fine until the system goes back into Sleep mode for a while, again.

    I am happy for you, but am not sure what that has to do with the subject of this forum "Window 11 taskbar auto-hide turning off".

    Do you mean that the Window 11 taskbar auto-hide setting is stable on (KB5039302)?

    It just appeared a few hours ago. Today is June 25, 2024, Tuesday.

    Seems to be "lucky" for the first handful of allowing my Dell Inspiron 3020 to put itself to sleep after 1 minute.

    THAT actually sounds helpful - each individual application which sends "notices" must have their setup changed to stop it.

    Still a TERRIBLE answer - user should be able to configure Windows behaviors from Windows and disable ALL taskbar "unhide" events.

    I know that MS Teams is one of the worst offenders...

    My problem was with Discord. I have it set to autoload on startup. If you have a notification the taskbar will not hide. I disabled Taskbar flashing and this fixes it sometimes, but when it doesn't I have to open the Discord window and then close it. Disabling Notifications would be better but I don't want to do that. Discord needs to fix this.

    Well, I suppose there is if you can locate the actual registry entry. You could then add an entry in the good old "Autoexec.bat" file to re-insert the correct value. But I'd rather have MS develop a real solution.

    Hey MS - if you're listening, we would like a feature that PERMANENTLY hides the task bar UNLESS you hit the Windows button. How about that?
