Window 11 taskbar auto-hide turning off

I switched to Windows 11 a few weeks ago, and ever since then, the taskbar auto-hide quits working when the computer comes out of Sleep mode. I have to be away from the computer for a while before it will happen, and I believe it has something to do with me running dual monitors. When I wake my computer, my secondary monitor appears to come up faster than my primary by just a fraction. Once my primary is on, there is a message saying something about the taskbar already being hidden (I think) and the taskbar on my primary monitor has the taskbar up. When I go to Taskbar Behaviors, 'Automatically hide the taskbar' is no longer checked. I'll select it again, and it will work fine until the system goes back into Sleep mode for a while, again.

    I’ve got bad news for you. That’s why I left Apple and built my media studio with a custom Windows machine. My custom builder, at least, returns calls and is a great help!

    I totally agree. I've long since stopped trying to correct the problems. Just lookng forward to finding out if the next iteration of the OS has an improved system. If not, or even before if I get bored or need to replace the computer before then, I'm seriously considering jumping ship and going for a Mac. I was going to say it's like they don't even care, but they clearly don't. Sad, as I've been a Microsoft user since before Win95... But even sadder, even if they read this, they won't care.

    Hi, Yergz,

    I believe all of us, whether using single or multiple displays, have our own reasons for desiring a defect-free operating system for our personal computers.

    For the record, I did follow as many of the tips I ran across in the contributions from others as possible, before applying the Cumulative Update Preview update. In particular, I believe I turned off all Notifications, although I'm no longer interested in bandaids for this issue.

    Also, for the record, the "you can only have one taskbar on this side" did come back once -- but only once time -- since I applied the Preview update.

    Finally, it seemed that I needed to have the PC timeout for going to sleep be equal to the display timeout for turning off. Again, why this may be so, is no longer of interest.

    I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm ready for a defect-free PC OS. I say this as a successful software engineer (my fortes were debugging and graphic design and database access methods) and a holder of a Master's degree in Computer Science and Software Engineering.

    So far, I don't fault the hardware or firmware. It's the OS itself...

    So roughly 2.5 years later, I'm still having the issue, and I've only been using 11 for about 18-19 months (Dec 22).

    I have four monitors because I run a radio / YouTube studio. I keep the tool bar on each monitor for obvious reasons, but when I wake my machine, well, all four of them are there now....
