Window 11 taskbar auto-hide turning off

I switched to Windows 11 a few weeks ago, and ever since then, the taskbar auto-hide quits working when the computer comes out of Sleep mode. I have to be away from the computer for a while before it will happen, and I believe it has something to do with me running dual monitors. When I wake my computer, my secondary monitor appears to come up faster than my primary by just a fraction. Once my primary is on, there is a message saying something about the taskbar already being hidden (I think) and the taskbar on my primary monitor has the taskbar up. When I go to Taskbar Behaviors, 'Automatically hide the taskbar' is no longer checked. I'll select it again, and it will work fine until the system goes back into Sleep mode for a while, again.

    Sadly it looks as though this is a users porum that is not monitored by Programming Support (Tech support is not Programming Support in the eyes of Microsoft) otherwise the issue would have been resolved

    I have the same issue. Its amazing that this has been a problem for almost 3 years now and no fix for all of these people. Imagine the flood of reports about one specific system issue and Microsoft is like "lets check if your computer is plugged in". How moronic. Useless help from Microsoft techs like usual. We'll have to wait for Windows 15 for the fix, all while getting more issues jammed down our throats and being forced to use an OS that isn't even polished.

    I'm updated to Win 11 Pro 24H2, and AFAICS, the problem still exists.

    But I don't see the problem anymore because I'm using ExplorerPatcher: https://github.com/valinet/ExplorerPatcher

    Since I upgraded to Windows 11, I've been using this app to change my Taskbar to look like Windows 10.

    But 24H2 makes in impossible for ExplorerPatcher to make all the tweaks to the Taskbar that it did before 24H2, so I believe that the developers had to completely REPLACE the Taskbar with their own implementation to get it to look like Windows 10. (You can read more on the Github Project pages at the link above.) The great thing is, this implementation can give you a Taskbar where Auto-Hide works.

    With 24H2, I set the ExplorerPatcher Taskbar style to the new "Windows 10 (ExplorerPatcher)" style.

    The app's implementation of the Windows 10 Taskbar does have bugs. The Taskbar on my main monitor does not auto-hide unless I move my cursor over an open window or if I click on the desktop. But that's better than it not hiding at all. (I have reported this problem.)

    NOTE that 24H2 Windows Defender (and some other anti-virus apps) flags ExplorerPatcher. The Github pages discuss this and tell you how to deal with it.

    For whatever it's worth, in recent months it has not happened as much to me. Mileage may vary.
