Window 11 taskbar auto-hide turning off

I switched to Windows 11 a few weeks ago, and ever since then, the taskbar auto-hide quits working when the computer comes out of Sleep mode. I have to be away from the computer for a while before it will happen, and I believe it has something to do with me running dual monitors. When I wake my computer, my secondary monitor appears to come up faster than my primary by just a fraction. Once my primary is on, there is a message saying something about the taskbar already being hidden (I think) and the taskbar on my primary monitor has the taskbar up. When I go to Taskbar Behaviors, 'Automatically hide the taskbar' is no longer checked. I'll select it again, and it will work fine until the system goes back into Sleep mode for a while, again.

    this will probably fix the issue as well, just reverse the reg setting to 03 to force it on and restart, the problem i had was pretty much the same but in reverse where it was enabling it for me even after unchecking it.

    Not quite the problem we are discussing here, but thanks for the info.

    I want the taskbar to auto-hide, and I have used the setting in the GUI to enable it, but that setting keeps getting turned off. No one seems to be able to figure out how or why this happens or how to prevent it. And it seems MS just doesn't care.

    Hey all i have fixed my issue where the taskbar was always auto hiding even if i turned it off in the GUI from the taskbar options.

    Open Registry Editor

    Press Start and type “Registry Editor”. Click the top result.

    In your Registry Editor search bar, paste the following:

    Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\StuckRects3

    In your main pane, double-click the Settings entry.

    To disable auto-hide taskbar, find the row with the value data “00000008″. Double click the value in the first column, which should be “02”, and change it to “03”. When you’re done, press “OK”.

    after you change the setting to the one you need restart the computer and it should work with whatever you select in the taskbar options checkbox now again.

    Well, I'd have to research if ALL my software would run seamlessly on Linux. I believe the hassle would not be worth the effort of switching OS, just because of one issue with Windows 11. I am staying on Win 10...

    If you really want to give them the finger and save some money, then switch to Linux. I'm looking forward to make the great switch to Linux Mint after support for W11 ends. I'm already using Firefox, Thunderbird and LibreOffice, so I can keep my mail, bookmarks, settings, ... I got Forté Agent to work under Wine, so it wouldn't be too much of a hassle.
