I switched to Windows 11 a few weeks ago, and ever since then, the taskbar auto-hide quits working when the computer comes out of Sleep mode. I have to be away from the computer for a while before it will happen, and I believe it has something to do with me running dual monitors. When I wake my computer, my secondary monitor appears to come up faster than my primary by just a fraction. Once my primary is on, there is a message saying something about the taskbar already being hidden (I think) and the taskbar on my primary monitor has the taskbar up. When I go to Taskbar Behaviors, 'Automatically hide the taskbar' is no longer checked. I'll select it again, and it will work fine until the system goes back into Sleep mode for a while, again.

I have the same issue. Hopefully Microsoft will notice this thread at some point and prioritize this issue higher...
Disable the Show Badges on Taskbar option Using Settings app <--- This fixed my issue for Windows 11. Was able to restart the laptop, reconnect to my docking station with the auto-hide still being enabled.
Update: Was only a temporary fix. It eventually reverted back. Happened within 24 of making the change. Problem still exists for me.
I have only one monitor and am still using Windows 10. Yet my taskbar will also not stay hidden even though the switch stays on.
This happens for me everytime there is any change to the items in the taskbar corner.
Eg. Starting a Zoom call. (I don't even have Teams so that's not the only cause)
How can such a basic bug still be happening after so long....!
