Window 11 taskbar auto-hide turning off

I agree. Also, I see numerous posts saying this appears to be related to having multiple monitors. I don't disagree with this, but will add, it happens almost every time I access a system with remote desktop connection (which I use a lot).

Apparently, the "multiple display issue" isn't limited to having 2 physical monitors connected to the system....

Having been someone who has developed operating systems, compilers, communications systems, etc., I wouldn't think this should have been going on for YEARS?

Wild that auto-hide has been plagued by issues like this for over a decade and yep, can confirm, still dealing with this one. And it seemingly has been getting worse recently with it happening every single time I wake the PC rather than just sometimes.

I have this issue, May 8th 2025.

Occurs after pc wakes from sleep.

It's almost as if Microsoft and its business "partners" (PC sellers) are too busy trying to force everyone to buy new hardware -- and trying to force AI into everything so they can monetize it -- to fix real, very basic, and extremely annoying problems in their existing products.

Taskbar Auto-Hide turning itself off? So what?

Desktop Icons randomly moving themselves around? Who cares?

File chooser not automatically selecting the same folder you've used the last 500 times? We couldn't care less.

UAC popping up underneath open windows so you can't see it. One day you'll move a window and maybe you'll see it.

I can no longer allow my monitors to go to sleep. My desktop is ALWAYS completely mangled when they wake up. Resolutions are wrong. Window are re-arranged. And icons?

The list goes on.

But Co-Pilot in EVERYTHING? Yeah, that's what everyone wants. And they want to pay huge $$ for new hardware in order to use it.

Yeah, make is so you must buy new hardware in order to get fixes to your OS. We want -- no, WE NEED -- that.

Hey, here's a thought. FIX YOUR EXISTING SOFTWARE!!!

If Linux weren't such a pain in the butt to maintain, almost all of the apps I use every day are open-source and/or available there...

I posted a complaint about 2 years ago on this thread but now it has gotten way worse. I recently upgraded some major parts of my system and was forced to reinstall windows. I had noticed before that the incidents of the taskbar becoming unhidden had picked up some after the last update...now i am sure of it. I have a now top of the line gaming system but each time it comes out of sleep or hibernation, the box is unchecked again almost without fail. Whatever MS did was not an improvement. They have to have a ton of complaints as every system out there these days is most likely usinga dual monitor setup.
