This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
I recently purchased a laptop that came with the S mode of Windows. On the first startup it automatically installed Windows 11 (so downgrading to 10 is not an option). After set up etc. I updated Microsoft Store and installed various Windows updates and tried to switch it out of S mode. Instead, for the past few hours and with each of the hundreds of attempts, I keep getting a window that says "Try that again. Something happened on our end. Waiting a bit might help" along with an error code that changes every time. I am burned out and all out of ideas, any assistance on the matter will be greatly appreciated.

And you've done the reinstall process?
You should be able o buy a laptop without S Mode. Or a clean install should give you the current make/model without S Mode.
Yes, I tried that and it didn't work. I'd tried installing from another profile so I just did a clean install after a couple of hours. That finally worked, but super annoying that it's SUCH a pain to get out of S Mode. Terrible, terrible user experience.
