Can't switch out of S mode: "Try that again"

I recently purchased a laptop that came with the S mode of Windows. On the first startup it automatically installed Windows 11 (so downgrading to 10 is not an option). After set up etc. I updated Microsoft Store and installed various Windows updates and tried to switch it out of S mode. Instead, for the past few hours and with each of the hundreds of attempts, I keep getting a window that says "Try that again. Something happened on our end. Waiting a bit might help" along with an error code that changes every time. I am burned out and all out of ideas, any assistance on the matter will be greatly appreciated.

!!!!!THIS COMPLETELY WORKS - AFTER 2 HOURS SCOURING THE INTERNET - REDDIT SAVES THE DAY!!!!!

There's a relatively easy way to temporarily disable S mode on your Windows 10 system to do things normally blocked by it and then re-enable it afterwards. This is for people who may only need to run desktop apps once in awhile and don't want to take the plunge to fully remove S mode. The best thing about it, just one reboot puts you back.

    1. Go to Settings -> Recovery, select Restart now from Advanced startup.
    2. From the Recovery screen select Troubleshoot, Advanced options, See more recovery options, Startup Settings. Restart the machine.
    3. From the Startup Settings screen select "7) Disable driver signature enforcement". The machine will restart.

Your machine will now let you run any executable as you would be able to when out of S mode.

When you want to go back, just reboot the machine. S mode will be back protecting you again.

To remove it properly without it coming back ring MS Support and hopefully find the right tech that fixes it in one go.

But no one should have to go through this painful experience! MS, you suck!

Did anyone ever find a way around it? I just bought a Lenovo laptop and it's doing the same thing to me. I have updated every single app on the PC, restarted the PC several times, searched google for a fix, and done everything else I can think of but it still says "try again".

Please let me know how you got around it, please and thank you! I need this laptop for my job, I recently got promoted and am trying to set everything up before work in the morning.
