Can't switch out of S mode: "Try that again"

I recently purchased a laptop that came with the S mode of Windows. On the first startup it automatically installed Windows 11 (so downgrading to 10 is not an option). After set up etc. I updated Microsoft Store and installed various Windows updates and tried to switch it out of S mode. Instead, for the past few hours and with each of the hundreds of attempts, I keep getting a window that says "Try that again. Something happened on our end. Waiting a bit might help" along with an error code that changes every time. I am burned out and all out of ideas, any assistance on the matter will be greatly appreciated.

I have been trying to get out of S mode for 24 hours. I've tried restarting, running programs that don't seem to exist, and using different Microsoft accounts. Nothing is working. I'm afraid to reset anything as I don't want to remove the many things I've already set up. What are my options now if I didn't pay for the Geek Squad warranty?

The option that does seem to work for others :

Perform a reinstall using Settings > System > Recovery > Fix problems using windows update > Reinstall now.

This method worked for me, It does take a little time because you are re-installing windows but... patience is a virtue. Just be careful to keep your settings
