Can't switch out of S mode: "Try that again"

I recently purchased a laptop that came with the S mode of Windows. On the first startup it automatically installed Windows 11 (so downgrading to 10 is not an option). After set up etc. I updated Microsoft Store and installed various Windows updates and tried to switch it out of S mode. Instead, for the past few hours and with each of the hundreds of attempts, I keep getting a window that says "Try that again. Something happened on our end. Waiting a bit might help" along with an error code that changes every time. I am burned out and all out of ideas, any assistance on the matter will be greatly appreciated.

    Sanchit,

    After doing the hard reset of the pc. I was able to disable S Mode, so thank you for the info to get this sorted.

    after crazy research there's 2 ways so far one worked for me instantly all i did was hold shift and the press restart to go to recovery menu ( you can do that by searching the start search for reset this pc and after clicking it choosing advanced..... and restart) anyway in recovery go to trouble shot... then choose the uefi...... and continue to restart . ( please note that all this is to reach bios menu which you can get to by restarting and click one of the F buttons i guess F12 or even by a hard bios button on mother board) ok so after that all you have to do is go to boot options/settings and disable secure boot thats itttttttt !!!!

    Update to this: I had contacted Microsoft to seek help. They tried to reset things that needed to be and applied commands and updates that I hadn’t applied yet. Despite all of our efforts(even when they took control of my laptop) nothing worked. They had said the system was corrupted and I had to claim the warranty on my laptop with my seller. I did so and got a new laptop that actually worked with getting S Mode off. So I think if nothing works for you, your system may be corrupted and you’ll have to talk to your local seller to claim the warranty and get a new device. I talked to my seller(Best Buy) and they said they only every had one other case like this and that person had to do the same exact thing since there wasn’t anything they could do. So contact Microsoft to see if they can fix it and if not, claim the warranty if you still have it and get a new device.

    Purchase at Walmart on MAY 23, 2024

    can not get out of S mode for 3 hours and counting

    Im getting try again as error message

    this super dumb

    May of 2023 and this problem still persists. I have a brand new Lenovo laptop and no matter how many times I hit the "Get" button it throws and error and says "Try Again"
