Can't switch out of S mode: "Try that again"

I recently purchased a laptop that came with the S mode of Windows. On the first startup it automatically installed Windows 11 (so downgrading to 10 is not an option). After set up etc. I updated Microsoft Store and installed various Windows updates and tried to switch it out of S mode. Instead, for the past few hours and with each of the hundreds of attempts, I keep getting a window that says "Try that again. Something happened on our end. Waiting a bit might help" along with an error code that changes every time. I am burned out and all out of ideas, any assistance on the matter will be greatly appreciated.

    Have tried everything you have suggested and it still dont work.I have a little boy that has been upset since xmas morning because he cant play his games,thanks alot microsoft,still at least i have a say with my firm in there it department about using apple or windows guess Apple is the way foreward will also be advising the same on my youtube channel,tiktok ect as this is an outrage.

    I had the same issue as you, and I know how frustrating it is to not be able to use your apps,

    Turns out, I think it's not an outage,

    because I fixed this problem Resetting My Pc, and then Installing Windows 11 22H2 And I was able to switch out of s mode on the new version

    Hello Riyah Hampton, I found a way to disable S mode (this requires resetting your device)

    In the Windows 10/11 Setup when it says, "This might take Several Minutes" Try hitting CTRL+ALT+DEL

    and then click Task manager, Then in Task Manager click something like Run new task click on that and type "Msedge" after you get in Microsoft edge I want you to do this before it gets to the setup, Download a exe file (any exe file on Microsoft edge and click open in Microsoft edge, it should say something like You can't run this app because of Smode and click something like learn more it will redirect you to the Microsoft store after you are in the Microsoft store click "Get out of Smode" On the Smode page then sign in with a Microsoft account after you do that you should get rid of Smode and complete the normal setup Hope this helps.
