Yeah. I was fortunate to have a good IT person on the phone with me from MS help desk as well.

I recently purchased a laptop that came with the S mode of Windows. On the first startup it automatically installed Windows 11 (so downgrading to 10 is not an option). After set up etc. I updated Microsoft Store and installed various Windows updates and tried to switch it out of S mode. Instead, for the past few hours and with each of the hundreds of attempts, I keep getting a window that says "Try that again. Something happened on our end. Waiting a bit might help" along with an error code that changes every time. I am burned out and all out of ideas, any assistance on the matter will be greatly appreciated.

I ended up calling MS help desk and by 3 am this morning it was fixed. We had to reinstall a few times. Ridiculous, but I needed professional help to get it working.
Same problem on a Lenovo laptop. "Something happened..." message with a "Try Again" button. Been like that for two days! Nothing downloads from MS store either. Why would anyone want to buy a castrated computer? I can't stand this S Mode!
Please share! This is so frustrating.
Wow. If this is still a problem, when my husband buys his new laptop , we will not leave best buy until we check the OS is out of Safety mode.
A technician from MSN talked me through a Reset saving all settings. It worked. Such a shame MSN can’t get the glich figured out , that keeps saying Try again.
