Can't switch out of S mode: "Try that again"

I recently purchased a laptop that came with the S mode of Windows. On the first startup it automatically installed Windows 11 (so downgrading to 10 is not an option). After set up etc. I updated Microsoft Store and installed various Windows updates and tried to switch it out of S mode. Instead, for the past few hours and with each of the hundreds of attempts, I keep getting a window that says "Try that again. Something happened on our end. Waiting a bit might help" along with an error code that changes every time. I am burned out and all out of ideas, any assistance on the matter will be greatly appreciated.

Sorry buddy but I have tried everything in the “it’s super easy and it’s all user fault” list. S Mode stands literally for **** Mode as in its ****. I will never believe anyone alive actually wants to be restricted to only ever using what they may pay Bill Gates for permission to do. Maybe it means Spy Mode because you are banned from installing anything remotely secure.

What seemed to work for another user was to use the option to reinstall windows in Windows 11.

Open Settings > System > Recovery > Fix problems using windows update > Reinstall now.

Then try to switch out of S Mode again.

I have the same problem1 I got an hp 15.6in laptop windows 11 and I can't really download any apps unless they're from Microsoft store. can't play Roblox nor download steam. I reset my laptop too and NOTHING! it is really frustrating because I would like to enjoy myself on this laptop but knowing I can't sign out of s mode to fix this issue is annoying.
