Windows 11- audio long delay before starting

After updating to Windows 11 on my 6 month old laptop, my audio files take 20 seconds to start or they do not start at all. This also causes a delay in videos starting whether the file is on my computer or a website. Has anyone else had this issue.

    Thanks, I don't know why I didn't think of trying this before, but yep this was an immediate fix for me as well

    I finally fixed my lag issue! Mine was serious - anywhere from 30 to 60 seconds before a video, be it a local file, Youtube, or whatever, would start. Also, anything to do with sound settings would lock up the computer for a bit.

    I'll start by saying I read EVERY post in this thread (7 pages, to date), and tried most everything suggested, i.e. updating drivers, removing them, changing them, modifying registry keys, etc. etc. etc. (BTW, I had the latest driver, v 6.0.9228.1, and the Waves MaxxAudio Pro Application v3.0.74.0_A05_03; this after many installs, reboots, reinstalls, ad nauseum).

    The common factor throughout this thread seemed to be the Realtek driver, so I figured why not replace it entirely! I replaced it with the generic Microsoft  “High-definition audio device”, and bada boom bada bing, all is well in the world again!

    Yes, it says Windows 10, and I'm on Windows 11, but it fixed my problem, and now my videos load immediately! I've tried many, from different sources, and have had no issues.

    Jason, have you resolved this yet? I updated to the newest Win 11 which caused my Realtek driver to update. The problem returned so I backed down the driver again. This fixed it but then my Realtex Audio Console would not work with that driver. I then installed the latest Reatek driver from my PC's manufacturer's (Lenovo) website and followed the regedit on this page...

    Solved: 3 seconds delay to play sounds through headphone - Page 2 - HP Support Community - 6631359

    Specifically, I set these keys to these values in the proper section...

    ConservationIdleTime = ff ff ff ff;
IdlePowerState = 00 00 00 00;
PerformanceIdleTime = ff ff ff ff.

That fixed the problem again... for now.

    I'm facing the same issue, only after the recent Windows update. I have updated the drivers as well, including Realtek. But no fix. It's not just audio issue. Even wifi disconnects all of a sudden.
