Windows 11- audio long delay before starting

Same issue on brand new Dell computer and Windows 11 :-( Quite annoying !

Hi Blaise, you need to read all comments, it is a problem that has no solution until now. In fact, last 2 updates released in the last 3 days, improved a little that the delay become shorter. Try all latest updates and be patient.

1/14/2022 - The Windows level 2 tech found 2 updates located in the Advanced Options on the Windows update window. These updates are for the wi-fi and bluetooth drivers. After a restart, all of the applications affected by the audio issues are now working properly. Hope this helps.

1/15/2022 - 10:00am Well, this morning - less than 24 hours later - after the updates - we are back to square one. The delay is back on all programs needing audio/video playback. Back to contacting Microsoft.

1/15/2022 - 4:00pm - After an exhaustive day with MS I was transferred to Dell support. They were not able to fix the problem, so the end result was to reinstall Windows 10. All audio/video issues are now resolved. The lesson learned from this is to wait a year before updating to a new operating system. Sorry I could not give you better news.

Ok Norma, thanks a lot for feedback. I will stay this way with Windows 11. When these guys have it resolved in a main update, I´ll let you know after several weeks of using it.

It is comforting that I am not alone. This issue also effects Powerpoint (inserted audio/video files), the default video player, zoom, and all other applications that need an audio or video player, including video web pages. Microsoft level 2 Windows tech was able to reinstall Windows 11 and that cleared the problem, except now it has happened again only 1 month after the reinstallation. I am scheduled for a call back today from another level 2 Windows tech and I will add an update if they finally figure out what is causing the problem.
