Windows 11- audio long delay before starting

The "pausing" sounds similar to me. If I started a video, I would get the delay. Once it was playing, if I paused it briefly it would resume correctly. If I paused it for 10 seconds or so and then resumed it, the delay would be there again. I feel it's the Realtek, not the speakers. If you can find some headphones lying around plug them in and give them a try.

It's pretty much a sound card for about $9 and it has good reviews.

I have dell XPS 13 9310 2-in-1

I upgraded from windows 10 to windows 11

I tried several solutions for this

First, I removed the Realtek Audio driver and kept the wave Maxx, but this didn't solve the problem

So I removed all, and I downloaded the Realtek Audio driver from dell website and installed it but this didn't solve the problem either

eventually, I removed all the Realtek Audio driver and Wave Maxx Pro and let the windows do the driver definition with Automatic Windows update, it installed different version than that found in dell website, and this actually solved my problem and now there is no delay and video & audio are in sync for more than a week now

Make sure that this app is the only Realtek app that installed not 2 of them, because I think that the other one is making the problem

I was ready for an upgrade to my hardware and purchased a Lenovo ThinkStation. (arrived two days ago and I spent most of the day yesterday doing the cutover from the old PC to the new PC.

It came in with Windows 10 and I upgraded to Windows 11. Within a day this issue revealed itself, so I contacted Lenovo for support. Apparently, they don't tech support Operating System issues. It's not included in their standard warranty. I would've had to pay for support, if I was inclined to do so.... which I wasn't.

So, I had them transfer me to customer service, where I expressed my displeasure with the issues they weren't willing to resolve, and asked for a return authorization.

I am going to roll back to Windows 10 and see if that resolves the issue, if not... it's going back to Lenovo. It's way too much time and money to screw around with these guys.

{UPDATE} I rolled back to Win 10 and everything is fine... so far. I may end up keeping the machine until Win 11 smooths out and these issues are resolved.

It is comforting that I am not alone. This issue also effects Powerpoint (inserted audio/video files), the default video player, zoom, and all other applications that need an audio or video player, including video web pages. Microsoft level 2 Windows tech was able to reinstall Windows 11 and that cleared the problem, except now it has happened again only 1 month after the reinstallation. I am scheduled for a call back today from another level 2 Windows tech and I will add an update if they finally figure out what is causing the problem.
