Over-exposure in screenshots and recordings with HDR in Windows 11

Hello, I am inquiring about an issue I can't seem to solve (without turning HDR off all-together, which defeats the purpose of having it even be an option in Windows 11)

In recordings (primarily using OBS) and in screenshots (with snip and sketch) everything appears extremely over-exposed / bright with HDR enabled. This is a big problem for me as I actually, well, want to use the OS normally. I record lots of clips and take many screenshots and I've finally gotten fed up of it and am now looking for a solution. Any help appreciated, thanks

(snip and sketch has since stopped doing it, however it likes to do it randomly now. commonly happens in fullscreen programs and also my web browser for some reason)

    Same problem here, Windows 11, everything updated and screenshots using HDR is overexposed

    More than a year later... this issue persists.

    Here we are, in the year 2023, and microsoft still doesn't support the HDR standard correctly.

    I used the Windows HDR calibration tool.
    After I was done calibrating it and it generated a new color profile, taking screenshots via the snipping tools worked as expected.

    Haven't tested it extensively but so far it works fine.

    This didn't work for me: screenshots are still not working properly with HDR activated.

    Hi ZB06,

    Sorry for misunderstood.

    You may try the step follow.

    1. Select the Startbutton, then enter settings. Select Settings> System> Display.
    2. If you have multiple displays connected to your PC, select the HDR-capable display near the top of the screen, and then move the Settings app window to the HDR display that you’re adjusting
    3. On the Display settings screen, select Use HDR.
    4. UnderSDR content brightnessor HDR content brightness, drag the slider to get the right balance for brightness between HDR and SDR content.
