Over-exposure in screenshots and recordings with HDR in Windows 11

Hello, I am inquiring about an issue I can't seem to solve (without turning HDR off all-together, which defeats the purpose of having it even be an option in Windows 11)

In recordings (primarily using OBS) and in screenshots (with snip and sketch) everything appears extremely over-exposed / bright with HDR enabled. This is a big problem for me as I actually, well, want to use the OS normally. I record lots of clips and take many screenshots and I've finally gotten fed up of it and am now looking for a solution. Any help appreciated, thanks

(snip and sketch has since stopped doing it, however it likes to do it randomly now. commonly happens in fullscreen programs and also my web browser for some reason)

    Adding new development with the issue.

    Seems like the issue also happens if I have HDR enabled and sharing my screen on Teams.
    All of my collegues complained they can't see anything because of overexposure.

    So I gave it a go and also tried it with Skype screen share, same issue, same result.

    Basically any software that tries to capture the screen ends up overexposed when is HDR Enabled.

    Except that it isn't any software. Geforce experience understands HDR and captures them into a .jxr file just fine. The problem is most applications don't understand HDR and as such will not display them properly, which is my biggest gripe. I can't post them to any providers because they only accept SDR files, likely because all displays can handle that.

    I was able to fix OBS by setting the Capture Method to Windows 10 (1903 and up)

    I have only done limited testing just now. So, if HDR gets stuck on (another issue I have with HDR), IDK how it will react to that.

    Still have no idea how to get snipping tool to work though.
