The issue with discord is not windows specific. You can enable a discord “experiment” or whatever they call the experimental features to turn on tone map support.

Hello, I am inquiring about an issue I can't seem to solve (without turning HDR off all-together, which defeats the purpose of having it even be an option in Windows 11)
In recordings (primarily using OBS) and in screenshots (with snip and sketch) everything appears extremely over-exposed / bright with HDR enabled. This is a big problem for me as I actually, well, want to use the OS normally. I record lots of clips and take many screenshots and I've finally gotten fed up of it and am now looking for a solution. Any help appreciated, thanks
(snip and sketch has since stopped doing it, however it likes to do it randomly now. commonly happens in fullscreen programs and also my web browser for some reason)

ridiculous that this has been going on for so long
happens using the print screen key, snipping tool, and screen capturing with teams/other applications.
the work around is for me to disable HDR every time I need to capture my screen in ANY way

2023-03-07T18:20:38+00:00 Just upgraded to an LG C2 as my main computer display and thought I was doing something wrong. Sometimes I'll get lucky and a screenshot will look normal, but that seems to be super rare. For screenshots within the browser, I've had luck with using a screenshot extension. Even then I have weird issues but that's the only way I've found to get around this. Hope it's fixed soon, but I'm not holding my breath.

2023-03-07T19:38:46+00:00 I posted the following back in October which completely resolved the issue for me, so thought I would repost it in the event it was missed in the conversation. I have no idea why this works, and therefore I can't claim it will for everyone in all situations, however I can say that it has worked for me, resolving HDR snipping issues across all programs, Chrome, Edge, Word, Excel... etc etc.
Give it a try, hopefully it will work for you as well, see as follows!
I changed the colour profile in Chrome which seemed to fix the issue when snipping from Chrome (which was my main issue). I've also tested snipping from Word (which obviously a change in Chrome shouldn't impact... ) and that was also fine.
I went to here: chrome://flags/#force-color-profileand changed the colour profile to sRGB (the below screenshot was a snip with HDR on, and as you can see... it's now fine)
Give it a go.. see if it sorts it for you.
