Over-exposure in screenshots and recordings with HDR in Windows 11

Hello, I am inquiring about an issue I can't seem to solve (without turning HDR off all-together, which defeats the purpose of having it even be an option in Windows 11)

In recordings (primarily using OBS) and in screenshots (with snip and sketch) everything appears extremely over-exposed / bright with HDR enabled. This is a big problem for me as I actually, well, want to use the OS normally. I record lots of clips and take many screenshots and I've finally gotten fed up of it and am now looking for a solution. Any help appreciated, thanks

(snip and sketch has since stopped doing it, however it likes to do it randomly now. commonly happens in fullscreen programs and also my web browser for some reason)

    Video card gamma settings as shown above are only for the desktop. How your game settings are affected by desktop gamma I couldn’t say. Your video games should have independent brightness adjustments available, as well. Make sure you’re adjusting the gamma under desktop color settings.

    Dismissive? Maybe. Because people have ignored the solution given on the very first page while saying said solution was unrelated to the problem and pretty much attacking the person trying to help. The SDR slider is the problem.

    Unhelpful? That’s your opinion. I laid out steps that have helped several people and myself.

    The issue is HDR darkens everything SDR, so people tend to crank the SDR slider all the way over. That causes overexposure in apps that don’t support HDR like the snipping tool.

    It’s not a band-aid. Once set properly it fixes the issue completely.

    You can say it’s an issue MS need to address all you like. It’s the truth after all. But I doubt it’s high on their priority list. Their entire HDR implementation kind of stinks.

    But if there’s a way around the problem, why not use it in the meantime?

    I'm here just to say i have the same issue.

    Also appears to be affected DISCORD streams aswell with the report being high brightness as described else where in these posts.

    The issue is actually with SDR correction while using HDR.
