Hello everyone. I wanted to share possibly the last update. Next week we will be releasing a new Game Ready Driver which will include a fix for this issue. As I stated in the past, this was resolved by reproducing a crash on a different Dell notebook that produced a crash dump file with the same signature as that shared by users to me in this thread and coming up with a fix for that. So while we were not able to 100% confirm the fix since we do not have a Dell XPS 9560 in our labs, I would recommend users give the next driver update a try and then share your feedback. Final Edit: I'm updating this thread for future users. The problem is solved! Nvidia have released a new driver that fixes the issue. It's been in use for over 10 days as of time of writing and all reports are that the XPS 15 9560 is stable again.
Thank you to everyone who came hear and contributed their voice into the mix, and thank you Nvidia Manuel for hearing us and providing updates. I'll leave the workarounds up and in the post just in case the problem arises again in the future.

My laptop (Dell xps 15 9560 windows 10 21H2) has been repeatedly BSODing. It was doing this about 3-4 weeks ago. I made a post here, spoke to someone and implemented their fix and thought I was done as everything returned to normal. Yet the problem persists as of the most recent windows update.
Things I have done:
Completely uninstalled and reinstalled all graphics drivers from manufacturers with a clean install using DDU in safe mode
Rolled back the most recent windows update
Installed all the updates from Dell support
Attempted to repair files with the sfc /scannow command
Reinstalled DirectX
Cried a little bit
As of about an hour ago I'm still having the same blue screen fatal error. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Edit 1: Thought it best to post this here so it's on every page for new comers. Members of this thread with 9560s suffering constant BSODs have found that disabling the GTX1050 graphics card in the device manager results in system stability. Yes, this is not an acceptable long term solution, we didn't buy these machines to have them hamstrung like this. But equally this does completely fix the BSOD issue. This is a temporary band-aid fix until a real solution presents itself.
Band Aid Method:
- Press windows key + x
- Select device manager from list
- Navigate to Display Adapters and double click
- Locate NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 from the drop down options
- Right click on the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 and select Disable device
- Bingo. You did it.
Your 9560 is now stable for office use, internet browsing, and lite graphic design work. I've been using Illustrator with a very minor performance hit.
One user has noted that you can fire up your system with the GTX1050 disabled, reenable it, and perform graphics heavy tasks with it as long as you disable the GTX1050 before the machine goes into sleep mode or restarts, etc, then everything remains stable. It's a pain in the ****, but for some of you with more demanding tasks that are on a deadline it might work in a pinch.
Edit 2: Some members of this thread have had success rolling their Nvidia drivers back to version 27.21.14.6109. This appears to stop the BSOD issue while keeping the gtx1050 active and stable. This can be found on Dell's website with a little searching. Anyone using this method should be aware that drivers are updated for a reason. Utilizing this method could leave your system open to security threats, etc. In my opinion this is still only a band-aid fix.

This was my first observation from the day 1 of the installation. I don't think that is a problem, just mention it as an observation.
Other than that everything works fine and of course no BSODs at all.

I doubt it. The bug was fixed in 526.47, so I don't see how 522.30 would work.
I use Photoshop and Lightroom on my 9560, and they have been working now with 526,47 Game version. I don't know of any reason you can't use the game version with Adobe products.

2022-11-14T15:39:52+00:00 My November 1, 2022, post reports that for five days after replacing my Dell XPS 9560 laptop's NVIDIA driver with the Game Ready v526.72 my laptop operated flawlessly, without any BSOD.
This post is to reinforce Liam-Kelly's "The problem is solved!" final edit by providing a status update on my18 calendar days of v526.72 use. In those 18 days my laptop never exhibited the BSOD symptom. Based on my prior experience, the older, symptomatic NVIDIA v512.72 driver (Per other posts, multiple NVIDIA driver versions caused the BSOD problem.) would have caused about 10-20 BSOD events over 18 days. My favorable experience indicates that the Game Ready v526.72 definitely fixed this thread's 17 May 2022 "Continued BSOD video dxgkrnl fatal error Windows 10 dell XPS laptop" issue originally reported by Liam-Kelly. My good result is also fully consistent with NVIDIA's v526.47-win11-win10-release-notes that report one Fixed Issue v526.47 is "Dell XPS 9560 may crash and reboot when using desktop applications."

2022-11-14T15:59:38+00:00 PanosI: Before you asked, I noticed that installing the NVIDIA Game Ready v526.47 driver reduced my XPS 9560 laptop's fan(s) noise level relative to the level produced when using the v512.72 NVIDIA driver version that caused BSOD events. I'm sensitive to the elevated fan noise because when performing experiments to investigate v512.72 that caused BSOD events, my laptops fans ran enough that I ran apps to check the temperatures of both CPU and GPU devices that, in the XPS 9560, each have a dedicated fan. Both devices' temperatures were low enough to not require high fan speeds, so my experiment didn't really indicate why my fan speeds were sometimes so high with the v512.72 driver.
Of course, properly controlled fan speeds depend strongly on the apps being run and whether CPU, GPU or both are engaged and to what extent and you and I almost certainly running different apps. One hypothesis or speculation to explain your high fan noise level is, with the fixed v526.47 driver, Win 10/11 is now harnessing the NVIDIA GPU device more, which increases the GPU's temperature so the laptop will automatically increase the GPU fan's speed. The result could be that the GPU fan speed has increased but the CPU fan speed hasn't declined by much so the total fan noise (what you hear) from both fans has increased.
It's good to hear that v526.47 eliminated BSOD events for you, as it did for me and apparently others.
