Hello everyone. I wanted to share possibly the last update. Next week we will be releasing a new Game Ready Driver which will include a fix for this issue. As I stated in the past, this was resolved by reproducing a crash on a different Dell notebook that produced a crash dump file with the same signature as that shared by users to me in this thread and coming up with a fix for that. So while we were not able to 100% confirm the fix since we do not have a Dell XPS 9560 in our labs, I would recommend users give the next driver update a try and then share your feedback. Thank you all for your help and your patience.
Continued BSOD video dxgkrnl fatal error Windows 10 dell XPS laptop
Final Edit: I'm updating this thread for future users. The problem is solved! Nvidia have released a new driver that fixes the issue. It's been in use for over 10 days as of time of writing and all reports are that the XPS 15 9560 is stable again.
Thank you to everyone who came hear and contributed their voice into the mix, and thank you Nvidia Manuel for hearing us and providing updates. I'll leave the workarounds up and in the post just in case the problem arises again in the future.
Original post below:
My laptop (Dell xps 15 9560 windows 10 21H2) has been repeatedly BSODing. It was doing this about 3-4 weeks ago. I made a post here, spoke to someone and implemented their fix and thought I was done as everything returned to normal. Yet the problem persists as of the most recent windows update.
Things I have done:
Completely uninstalled and reinstalled all graphics drivers from manufacturers with a clean install using DDU in safe mode
Rolled back the most recent windows update
Installed all the updates from Dell support
Attempted to repair files with the sfc /scannow command
Reinstalled DirectX
Cried a little bit
As of about an hour ago I'm still having the same blue screen fatal error. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Liam
Edit 1: Thought it best to post this here so it's on every page for new comers. Members of this thread with 9560s suffering constant BSODs have found that disabling the GTX1050 graphics card in the device manager results in system stability. Yes, this is not an acceptable long term solution, we didn't buy these machines to have them hamstrung like this. But equally this does completely fix the BSOD issue. This is a temporary band-aid fix until a real solution presents itself.
Band Aid Method:
- Press windows key + x
- Select device manager from list
- Navigate to Display Adapters and double click
- Locate NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 from the drop down options
- Right click on the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 and select Disable device
- Bingo. You did it.
Your 9560 is now stable for office use, internet browsing, and lite graphic design work. I've been using Illustrator with a very minor performance hit.
One user has noted that you can fire up your system with the GTX1050 disabled, reenable it, and perform graphics heavy tasks with it as long as you disable the GTX1050 before the machine goes into sleep mode or restarts, etc, then everything remains stable. It's a pain in the ****, but for some of you with more demanding tasks that are on a deadline it might work in a pinch.
Edit 2: Some members of this thread have had success rolling their Nvidia drivers back to version 27.21.14.6109. This appears to stop the BSOD issue while keeping the gtx1050 active and stable. This can be found on Dell's website with a little searching. Anyone using this method should be aware that drivers are updated for a reason. Utilizing this method could leave your system open to security threats, etc. In my opinion this is still only a band-aid fix.

2022-09-01T14:39:08+00:00 Update to my previous message.
Disabling the Intel Power Management Driver DOES NOT SOLVE THE ISSUE.
Since I found out that a colleague of mine had exactly my hardware configuration and OS (Windows10 Pro, Intel(R) HD Graphics 630, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050) and never experienced BSOD, I had a look at his drivers.
I ended up installing a previous version of Nvidia drivers: 26.21.14.4270.
I'll let you know if this eventually solves the issue.
Ciao

2022-08-29T19:36:45+00:00 Well, the article applies to Windows 8.1 and AMD/Intel. You stretch it to Windows 10 and Nvidia/Intel, which would mean the Nvidia driver would not support Runtime Power Management (RTPM), but the Intel driver would support RTPM. At least this would apply for my case, because I am using
Windows 10 and- Intel(R) HD Graphics 630
- Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050
And you got the same bluescreen and error code? Your problems have not been fixed yet? If you look in the eventlog, are there the same errors for the system section?
Just for your information: I use Dell Command Update and the Intel Driver- and Support-Assistent for Updates. Did you also come across hints in Intel regarding inconsistencies with other drivers in the past?
Will you try to disable RTPM in the Intel driver? Sorry, but I am fully new here and I am not an experienced system guy.

2022-08-29T18:24:25+00:00 I think perhaps it's a stretch that the bug you describe here with Windows 8.1, AMD/Intel could have been resurrected with nVidia/Intel Windows 10 a couple of months ago, but hey, maybe the solution would work on our problem too.

2022-08-29T18:08:39+00:00 Hi everybody,
if the issue may be due to a conflict between NVIDIA and Intel graphics, could it be that the fix is the one indicated by Microsoft for the conflict between AMD and Intel graphic adapters? Have a look here
If this could be the fix, here you can read how to disable the Intel Power Management Driver https://www.techwalla.com/articles/how-to-disable-the-intel-power-management-driver
After you rename intelppm.sys, you will get yellow icons in the device manager for processors, as reported here https://www.thewindowsclub.com/fix-intelppm-sys-blue-screen-error-on-windows-10
At this stage you may have to reinstall the drivers. You can do that with the Intel Driver & Support Assistant.
Please let me know any feedback.
