Was your Windows installed and activated on the PC that you are referring. If so did you reformat the drive? If it was previously installed on the same PC you do not need the key to reactivate windows following a clean install on the same PC with the same hardware. If it was not activated previously or was a pirated key you have to purchase a new key. Please provide more info to allow the Community to assist you.

No, I just waited it out, and eventually the update disappeared and it was fine. It was a problem with microsoft, not my computer.

3. After all these commands are completed, close the Command Prompt window, restart your computer, and then try to update Windows.

If it persists, use the system file checker to repair possible corrupted or missing system files.

1. Open Start and type cmd, right-click on "Command Prompt", and select "Run as administrator".
2. Run the following commands at the Command Prompt one at a time:

This has been an issue since the beta and dev and the UUP downloads none of the commands fix nore troubble shoot even with in windows Trouble......no matter what update ver's i get nore fetaure pack ...
