I ran the command prompt as administrator and execute the following commands (one by one):

    sfc /scannow

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-image /RestoreHealth

I could not get Update for Windows 11 Security platform - KB5007651 (Version 1.0.2109.27002) to install.

There were some errors that could not be fixed in scannow. How can I fix that?

    Thanks,

    Joe

I did what Raju suggested on the previous page. DL the file and hide the update with the error until it gets fixed.

On May 24th, a new cumulative update KB5014019was pushed. This update contains the previous update, maybe you can try it.

So, I installed the NET Framework (etc) update which had to be installed separately from this update which you have supplied (and said fixed the problem). Though it has made more problems before installing it (and just hiding the security update). It has made many, if not all, of my icons gone 'freaky'. See photo. Many of the icons on the desktop have black marks on them. It's repeated withing the system folders and as you can see on the start-up bar for control panel. And even the control panel icon itself. Also, when you bring up the control panel, it was nonresponsive.Image I will be using the system restore to take out the major update (not the NET Framework one). And I just realised for some reason, the restore points I had on my PC are no longer there. So, I am stuck with my icons like this until it gets fixed, or I can uninstall the update.
