So, I installed 2022-06 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 for x64-based Systems (KB5014697) and the Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool x64 - v5.102 (KB890830). I was hoping it would fix the above problem with the icons and control panel that was caused by 2022-05 Cumulative Update Preview for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8 for Windows 11 for x64 (KB5013889) and 2022-05 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 for x64-based Systems (KB5014019) update. Everything else is working on my machine like I have said previously, but something has gone wrong with that previous update (normally the next update does pick it up and fix it). However, it has not happened. I am sure there is someone at Microsoft that can solve what went wrong and rectify it. It obviously doesn't look pretty, and I have lost the use of the control panel function. Also, it made it so I couldn't restore to a previous version of a restore point (what I had saved) which I said in the previous post above, as it had wiped those out. There was a MS person on this thread, but then they went quiet.

Since you have Kaspersky active, The options for windows security are not shown. Turn off Kaspersky (Entirely). Then Follow these steps:

    1. Search "Windows Security" in Start. Open it.
    2. Click on "Virus & Threat Protection".
    3. Under Virus & threat protection settings, click "Manage Settings".
    4. Turn off Real Time Protection.
    5. Go to Windows Update & retry the buggy update.
