I tried that; may it be the zip/rar file opener that I DL from the MS store that's interfering with this operation?

Thanks for the help, but I don't think this hide works with W11. The cab file just keeps coming up with its contents rather than starting.

How do I hide the update on Win 11? I am going to the Win Update section and there's nothing there to allow this option. It's just saying it's best to keep it up to date.
