Update for Windows Security platform - KB5007651 (Version 1.0.2109.27002)

I am having the same update failed issue, but i am wondering if this has anything to do with my windows 11 being not installed on supported hardware, since I see it's a update for Windows Security Platform.... I mean, my PC has no TPM module and no SecureBoot and it's a 1st gen i5.... up til this update tho, it has no issue at all whatsoever. Come on Microsoft, play nice with majority of PC user and give the choice to skip this update if this was the cause of the update failure....

Thank you to all for trying to help. I tried everything and nothing worked. So my last resort was to reset my windows 11 and so far so good. But it is a real pain reinstalling all my apps and resetting them up. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Tried this no fix...

I have this issue with my Surface Go 2 Laptop that is also in S Mode (Windows 11). There are limited things that can done in S Mode, but I did try the Repair and Reset a couple times and it didn't work (error code I have is 0x800711c7). I'm still able to install definition updates, so I don't think it is a major issue and trust Microsoft will figure this out soon. If someone has been able to get it to install with a similar configuration, please share what worked.

I chatted with MS Support, and Amal provided me with this - fixed it for me:

Open Command Prompt as Administrator.

Enter Commands:net stop wuauservnet stop bitsPress Windows key + R then type the path name:C:\Windows\SoftwareDistributionSelect all of it's contents then right-click and select Delete.Open Command Prompt as Administrator again.Type the commands:net start wuauservnet start bits Restart the device and try updating again.
